Each applicant for a position with BEST must submit a detailed resume and college transcripts that we verify and a list of professional references who are then contacted. California Teaching Credential verification is made via the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website. BEST is also approved to receive information from the State Department of Justice regarding any subsequent criminal history entries after the initial inquiry and clearance. BEST requires that all tutors maintain valid driver's licenses, submit annual printouts of their driving record and keep their vehicle registration and insurance current.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
We have an extensive employee-training program in place. Upon their initial hire, our experienced tutors receive at least eight hours of training regarding academic assessments, tutoring techniques, cultural diversity, parent/teacher communication, confidentiality, student motivation, tutoring documentation, IEP's and quality service assurance. Additional California state standard and specific subject area training is provided through Curriculum Associates.
